Westchester County Supreme Court
The Westchester County Supreme Court is the highest trial court in the county. It has general jurisdiction over all criminal and civil cases and may share jurisdiction over family law and probate cases. Note that the court will only hear criminal cases with severe penalties or civil cases in which the disputed amount is above $25,000. For complex commercial cases, the financial threshold for the disputed amount must be $100,000 or above.

However, you may request physical copies of court documents at the clerk’s office lobby. The court clerk will charge fees for printing copies of court documents. In addition, the clerk will request a valid ID if the requested document is sealed or restricted.
Mail-in requests for court records
For mail-in requests, inquirers must follow these steps:
- Create a written request letter that includes these data:
- Names of parties involved in the court case
- File or index number
- Name of the specific document you are searching for.
- Record filing date
- Include a check payable to the Westchester County Clerk. The clerk charges $10 if the inquirer does not include a file or index number. In contrast, certified copies of court costs cost $5.
